If you have been following along with my blog posts and social media, you may have picked up that one of my bucket list items is to visit all fifty states and a winery in each one. To keep track of my adventures I found this fun scratch off map on Amazon.
States I have been to:
The first state I scratched off was home sweet home, Maryland! I have been to many of the local wineries and plan to get to all the Maryland wineries eventually.
Virginia and Delaware are also scratched off. Being neighboring states to Maryland I have had the opportunity to visit wineries in both those states as well.
Over on the west coast I have been to California. Napa was where I found my true love of wine! I have also been to the central coast of California twice and visited wineries there each time.
Just over a year ago my husband and I traveled to New Mexico for our first Anniversary. While we were in Albuquerque, we visited Casa Rondena Winery. You can click this link to read more about our trip to New Mexico.
Last September when I went to Texas to visit my brother, I made sure that a visit to a winery was part of our weekend plans. We ended up going to Waco Winery after our visit to Magnolia Market.
So far I have been to wineries in 6 different states. I have been to other states, and have had wines from other states, but I have not actually been to wineries. I have a lot of states and wineries to go still!
States to visit this year:
This year I would like to go to two other neighboring states, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. I would also like to do a weekend trip to the Finger Lakes region in New York to check out some wineries there. Those are my top three state destinations for this year. If I can fit more traveling in within the states I will, but I also have my first international wine trip coming up this year! I am excited to tell you all more about that in a future post!
Have you ever been to wineries in the three states I plan on visiting this year? If so tell me in the comments below and leave me some recommendations.
What are some fun ways you keep track of where you have traveled to? I have seen some neat travel journals. When shopping for my US scratch off map there was also a scratch off map of the entire world. I am considering getting this one also to track my international travels. Tell me in the comments below how you like to keep track of your adventures. I will be sure to keep you all updated on my travels, just keep following along with the blog and over on my social media pages.
